Blanked a factory load.

Primers are not supposed to blank. When they do, it is a problem with the primer, or the rifle, or both. I would like to see what the other fired primers look like. If primers are a little soft, the Remington 700 is likely to blank one . It is possible to cure the issue by reshaping the tip of the pin. It is also possible that simply avoiding that ammo will do the trick. WH

This happened with a factory load, not a reload.
Is it possible Norma accidentally mixed in a Rem 6-1/2 or a soft/ thin primer?
Or if they use Rem 7-1/2's that a 6-1/2 got mixed in during manufacture.
Or something similar to that
I have had say a Sierra 52 BT get mixed into my 53 Match FACTORY bullets
From the factory

Point is, this may just be a 1/100,000 occurence with that Factory Ammo
I'd be willing to bet their loads are "prorietary secrets" and if asked whose primers they use they would say
"we are under no obligation to reveal the brands of components we use other than our own"
Similar to how many Mfgr's wont say which powder they use for certain ammo

ever Rem 700 I ever had that the case took small primers did that to some degree. I learned it would cost 70$ to fix a Jewell trigger when that happens so I always just had the firing pin turned down and the hole bushed if it takes a small primer in a Rem 700.

Savage bolt head faces are NOT flat. They are dished. And Savage has always been known for their sloppy boltheads. Add in junk ammo then bad things happen. Two different 223 Savage rifles I had you HAD to run a mag primer or a 41 primer or they would blank the primers. At a middle of the road load. Sent both back and the bolt heads were replaced.
