Jewell trigger repair??

I blanked a primer on the first shot on a new lot of H4350 in my BRDX a couple weeks ago and the Jewell trigger was a mess,,I got it cleaned out and put back together and it functions but it will not set any where near as light as it would and is really inconsistent ,,should I just send it to Jewell and pay to have them fix it,,or is there a smith somewhere that specializes in repair and super tuning the Jewell or should I just trash it and get a new trigger,,

thanx eric

I did the same thing recently and sent it back to Jewell. Cost about $45 including shipping both ways. Mine had a broken lever and wouldn't reset. Sounds like yours has a cracked lever or spring if it's resetting. If you're shooting small primers out of a large primer bolt, get it bushed to stop blanking primers before you put that Jewell back in!

bolt and pin is good in a Stiller Tac 30,,I was running a warm load and new lot was hotter and I didnt test it and it blanked the Tula 556 Magnum primer,,believe me I will keep an eye on different lots of any and all powders from now on,,I had some Varget a while back that was really slow,,maybe they got the 4350 and Varget in the wrong cans,,

45$ is a reasonable stupid tax to get it fixed,,

I got 6000++ rounds 6 BRDX and 6.5x47 on this action with no problems until this,,

i have the manual on a Jewell Trigger. PM your email address and I will forward it to you.

Maybe it will help, but who knows until you see it.

Yeah I hear you there on different lots of powder, primers too! I've seen up to a 100FPS difference in some lots. I learned during my competetive shooting days back in the 70's it pays to buy big quantities of the same lot. Money in the bank!

I sent a AR15 Jewell trigger that I couldn't get right. Jewell fixed it at no charge. That's as good as it gets for service but did take a few weeks. Great to deal with.
