BLACKBIRD barrel break-in--375 Cheytac Benchrest

Such a beautiful rifle, and so capable too!
Would love to see her take on a rockchuck out west perhaps Idaho,Montana,or Colorado from at least a mile out.
Matt
Find a spot and we will make it happen. About ready for another Colorado p. d. shoot

377 Cutting Edge
136gr and 137 gr of HBMG50
The extra gr of powder showed no increase in velocity so I went with 136 gr

I was loat testing with my new 377 gr Cutting Edge and 50 BMG.
Shot 3 in one hole.
Had two buddies with me who had never fired a Cheytac.
I only had two shells left. Each guy took one shot and both shots
went into same hole.

King Richard Schatz piloting the BLACKBIRD on a hot summer day in Tennessee

Schatz and I went up on Mile High and took 10 shells. I took first two shots to
see where we were and turned it over to Richard. Here are the results of his 8 shots
at 2,080 yds on a silhouette.

Roy Long and Sam Moore came over to the range one Sunday. I shot a one hole 3 shot group with the cheytac. Had 2 shells left and I let each guy shoot the rifle for the first time. Both their shots were touching and cutting each other

We caught a calm wind day and shot the Blackbird at 1 mile and then on out to 2500 yds. Very pleased.
The next day I put a NF Beast on it to have enough elevation to reach 3,000 plus but the wind was so high it was blowing things off our benches. We did take it to 1 mile though in the terrible wind and we broke a head size rock into several pieces. I hiked out and collected the pieces and brought the rock home

My cousin in Maynardville Tenn has a similar P/U. It was dark green from the late 60s till a few years back, but he tells me he painted it a modern Camaro color. i haven't seen him in a while, I need to get up to see him. when we were younger he would that my brother an i for a ride in hid 66 impala I always thought he needed new tires after he took us for a drive.

Back in early January four guys from Gallatin / Hendersonville area of Tennessee came up to the DOME with a couple of AR-50's. They wanted me to bring the Cheytac out . I put a scope on it and took three shots at 100 yards to zero. Then at 800 yds I took two shots and dialed the scope in to zero. I told the guys to watch the Ole Chuckie. One shot and center punch. Knocked Chuckie out of his stand.
