Looking to buy my first bipod for a heavy barrel bolt action rifle.. Any recommendations??
I know about Harris of course but are there any other brands out there that don't break the bank that are any good??
9-13 leg notch/swivel is my personal favorite and pod-lok is a plus on a 13# class gun
. you said "heavy bbl" how heavy?
on a heavy hitter I switched to a rail mount,
I like the Harris S-LM model . it is 9"-13" , swivel , leg notch . I also like to add a pod loc , to be able to easily tighten the swivel . I also like to add the spike feet on the legs , these help when shooting off the ground . I bought the spikes from a guy that sells them on this forum . the big rifle I use this with is a 30" bbl rifle that weighs about 16 pounds .
Thanks everybody.. I forgot were I was..lol... When I said heavy barrel I only mean a factory 24 inch bull barrel..gun will probably weigh 10 -11bs with scope..

Look at Peleton Technologies Tip Top bipods. They have everything the loaded Harris does for half the price.
I've got one of each size. They are not a cheap knock off.
Harris is the best choice because of the swivel, and a used Harris might be a little less expensive. The new Harris is around $75+ IIRC. But Amazon has one that is just like it for $20 & $22 for the 9"-13" version - but they don't swivel. I tried it because it had so many good reviews (best thing about Amazon) and they work great. I have 2 of them and just ordered the taller one for a 3rd. (Just to have some choice for all three rifles.) Both have notches in the legs (at 1" intervals, I think).
