Bipod hop with Sinclair Gen 3 f class bipod.

I have tried to set up as free recoil as possible with as little interaction with the rifle as possible.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ That may very well be your problem.

A snug hold and the butt in the correct place, i.e. the pocket made by the deltoids and the clavicle, will make worlds of difference in consistency. Free recoiling a 308 on a bipod is dicey at best in my experience

I have shot literally thousands and thousand of rounds through numerous FTR Rifles. I can count on two hands the number of time my rifle stayed on target.

I don't worry about that anymore, I try and do the best with the equipment I have.

OK here I go, I'm sure I'll catch flack for this one. I think we as shooters would do better if we paid more attention to us, IE our shot process and not as much on our equipment. As my gunsmith always tells me, "It aint the gun JIMMY".

Use the equipment you have and practice.

I stopped caring about barrel hop sometime back and instead I concentrate on the conditions, aiming where I want to go and doing my follow through and getting back on the spotting scope as quickly as possible to see if the conditions have changed while I was puling the trigger.

If people are more concerned with making sure the rifle doesn't hop or hops straight or left or right or does a loop the loop, good for them. I'm not taking a follow up shot so fast that I can't reposition from the small distance it may have moved; I have to get the fired case out and into the box and get a new round in and wait for the scorer to call it.

Where do I go to find out more about these Alton bipod feet?

Dixie Precision in Brandon Mississippi......Alton Britt is the owner, give them a call and they can hook you up, their phone number should be on the website.
