One bipod doesn't cut it. Off the bench or short grass a six to nine works great but in the field, where the grass is taller your need a nine to thirteen, maybe taller. Sometimes, ya gotta go sitting.
Bench,
Take a look at the Atlas BT10 before you buy. I have historically used Harris Bipods both in practice and actual tactical situations. But I just bought an Atlas BT10 for my new custom built STTAR15 and boy is it nice. The Atlas models do cost more, but the versatility and performance (IMHO) is better, especially the "feet" for stronger stability. That is not to say Harris isn't a good Bipod because it is. It's just that I feel the Atlas is sturdier. There are several models to choose from depending on the height you feel is best for your situation. I've tried to post the link, but without success. Google Atlas Bipods and you'll get it. Sorry!
I used a Harris Bipod for many years, the model designed for shooting from the prone and sitting positions. About 15 years ago I switched to shooting cross sticks because I needed something that would: 1.) give me more height 2.) adjust quickly when stalking, 3.) keep me off the ground because of ticks. I sit on a portable sportsman's chair and shoot of it using the sticks. This gives me four points of contact, elbows on knees, feet on ground. It's a very stable shooting position and good out to 300 yards. Beyond 300 yards I need the prone bipod for more stability but most of my shoots are under 300 yards.
I use 44" sticks made of 1/2" solid aluminum rod bound with 1" Velcro with 12" of heater hose on the ends to protect the stock. My home made sticks are sturdy, do not flex and are light weight and work perfectly in the field. I've taken over 1,500 ghogs with this system. This system gives me approx. 60% more opportunities since I have a much better field of view.
