Binocular Setups for the field

Guys,

I was admiring a few setups for holding binoculars in the field. I have a pair of Nikon Action Extreme 10x50 Binos which i love but they are heavy at times to do extended glassing in the groundhog fields. After about 20-30 minutes my arms get tired unless i hvae something to rest them on.

I have admired several 'clamp' style mounts to mount the bino's on a tripod or something similar. I think I would like to come up with something like that for my setup to clamp onto my shooting table or to be attached to a standalone tripod.

Do you all have any pictures or ideas where i could come about something like this? I am pretty handy and can certainly have something welded up to use but i was wondering about overall design.

Thanks,

Ruck

I have made a couple mounts. Here is my latest.

I made something like that from an old camera tripod that I picked up at a yard sale. I took the legs off of it and bolted a piece of angle iron to the head that has the cranking gears in it and use a C-clamp to hold it to the shooting table. I mount my spotting scope to the part that a camera would fit on with a bolt through the hole in the platform that fits the threads on my spotting scope. You can still use the crank to adjust how high or low you need your scope. I mount it on the left side of the shooting table so all I have to do is lean my head over a little to the left of the rifle to see though the spotting scope. About a month after I started using this at the range I noticed that a lot of other fellows were showing up with the same set up.
