billet CNC Ammo Box

Box3.jpg Box1.jpg So I finally did it...

It's been a year or so in the making, but I just haven't had the time with the new job to do all the design and testing on the ammo box.

I still have to cut the inside tray that will actually hold the rounds, but I plan to have that done this evening. May also go with a foam "insert" to keep weight down. O-ring is in there to protect against dust/water intrusion, and the quick release latch works like a charm.

Plan is to anodize it and put a flag on the top and I made it tall enough to fit up to a Rem Mag.

$,$$$

Looks fabulous and out of my "willing to buy" price range. No doubt its nice, but there comes a point where the line gets drawn of overboard lol. Id make em for myself if I could too though, dont blame you at all.

Ooooh shiny!

Seriously, that looks amazing. The foam may be a great idea. If it were me I would line the top with a thin (1/4") sheet of foam also to keep the rounds from banging into metal.

PS looking at the amount of hog out, did you consider just creating the case holder pattern in the hog out process. It would take a little longer and weigh a few ounces more but would look nice and might be better than the foam.

Or another way would be to use two layers of sheetmetal with the patter that mount to two different heights of lugs on the inner walls of the lower part.

How many rounds will it hold when completed? Do you have a ballpark price yet?
