Better Cell Phone Carrier?

I've had Verizon for years and as time passes I reduced the service level to the lowest possible, which is still around $65 per month. After a little research I've found alternate carriers who use Verizon or ATT towers. For example Mint has a $20 program, etc. I think TMobile has their own network but cost a little more.

Anybody have a positive experience with these low cost carriers? Need this for old senior and wife, plus easy to switch using existing Verizon phone.

It really depends on your area what carrier is best as some may be cheaper but won't have good coverage. For me it's Verizon at $65/mo as T-mobil has bad reception at my work and home.
It totally depends on where you travel. I have Verizon and it works any place I go. My neighbor has some phone and plan that is about $165/ yr and he gets a new phone. He never leaves the county we live in. I’d say do the research for your area.

I'm retired in Charlotte, only travel a few times a year now so my needs are minimal. I have a lot of "stuff" on my phone which I would like to retain if possible without needing to transfer over.

Spectrum, first line is $29.99 (data, phone, text) second line is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! for a year. Pretty good deal and I had Verizon for years (now owned by Spectrum) but for the price and same coverage is hard to beat.

This is my experience as well. When I worked in the oilfield, I carried a Verizon phone and a AT&T phone. With the help of a Wilson cell booster in my truck, I could usually communicate anywhere I ended up.

I had version for about 25yrs. Good service but too expensive. Switched to T Mobile and our phones wouldn't work as promised. They gave me a shitty phone for free, but the wife had to buy an expensive one. Service in our area is poor also.

T mobile can stick there Crappy Cell service right up there you know what. If you travel outside of the city... dont get T mobile. It sucks. I go to a lot of remote areas mostly because i have had about enough of the general population and T mobile signal is almost zero most of the times, while At&T and Verizon still have great signal.

I had an outfit named Tello for a couple of years and the seemed good..no problems
My daughter insisted that I go on her plan with her husband and 2 teenagers
because it was inexpensive to add users and she pays for it but if I went back on my
own it would be Tello.

Some of the MBAS coming out of Harvard and Wharton have figured out that you can compete with the monster companies if you....imagine this....sell people what they need and use rather than cram a program down thier throats.

!0 years ago my ATT phone bill was over $200 a month for two phones. I used approximately 5% of the program I was paying for, and when I asked for something more in line with what I used they said sorry that's the best we have to offer.

Alot of research led me to a pre-paid carrier using Verizon's towers called Page Plus. 100% of my needs fulfilled for $12 each for two phones ($10.00 with auto-pay....what I chose). I've never had a problem other than having to add data once when I was away from home for awhile...and they made that easy.

I hope the auto insurance industry takes note. I'm tired of paying for 12,000 miles a year per vehicle when I only drive 3000, and having to subsidize the uninsured and reckless drivers out there.

What a concept huh? Pay for what you use.
