Best Way to Obtain 6mmBR Rifle?

I too was looking for a 6BR... and looking... I couldn't spend the $2000 on up that I was seeing for custom guns. I ended up buying a Dasher from a member on here. Its based on a Savage F-Class but has a Krieger barrel. It wasn't cheap, but I think I got a decent deal. I wanted a 6BR w/no turn neck and ended up with a tight neck Dasher... I enjoy reloading and a new challenge so it seemed worth it in order to finally pick up a gun... But believe me... the costs add up by the time you get all the things you need... good luck finding the right gun for you...DRG

For what it's worth, I'd agree the 6ppc is a great choice to 200yds. I take my
Sako 75 single shot every time I go PD shooting and it is fast and so accurate.
I use Norma brass, 58 g vmaxes, no recoil, there's lots of load data, in a no turn 6ppc USA case, very east to load. Further than 200 tho, 6 br makes sense. Some Older Sakos pop up from time to time, they are super for varminting great trigger, and use no turn brass. Good luck with your next 6...(?)!

I'm a backyard shooter and have a 6ppc, 6br and a 30 br. I could do without the 30 because of the price involved and extra case work. Then the recoil or big bang.

I think if the 6ppc and the 6br were both in the same form, stock, action etc.
They would be pretty well equal.
The last time I needed ppc brass I bought it from a member completely done. That is the only way to go for me, only doing it twice. Done and done very well. Perfect.

each to there own. She said who ya going to satisfy with that lil thing? I said myself.

I bought a 6BR Savage factory barrel from the forums classified section for under $100. Cleaned it real good, screwed it onto my savage target action and it shot five shot groups in the .2-.3 range with first handloads we tried!

I am hooked!

There is nothing inherently difficult about the 6 PPC. It's as easy as you want to make it.

For example,

1. Get a PPC bolt face Savage action or put a PPC bolt head on your existing action. It's stupid simple.
2. Have a pre-fit made for your action in 6 PPC, no turn for the Norma 6PPC brass.
3. Start with 205M primer, 26.0 grains of LT-32 behind the Berger 68 grain FB seated where they make a square mark. 1 to 2 thou neck tension. Work your way up carefully in 0.3 grain increments.
4. Go shoot dots.
