The best way that I have found without wet tumbling or sonic cleaning is to put all your turned cases into a plastic container with a lid, get a bottle of shellite (Australia) (its called white gas or Naphtha in USA I believe)? from hardware store. Pour over cases, let sit for a few minutes to dissolve oil/wax residue. Shake container to dislove all residue. Pour shellite back into bottle to use again. I have found that you can use this a few times before solution becomes too oily. Just let shellite evaporate from cases which doesn't take long especially in sunlight. Cases are squeaky clean with no residual water inside.

When turning, I wipe out Imperial from necks with a Q-tip, wipe off case with rag and tumble in corncob for 1 hour. They are good and clean for forming.

The neck/shoulder area is where most of residue stacks up, but a Q-tip gets it out.

Zep ID Red will take anything off. Probably kills you in the process... But it's a great industrial de-greaser with a MSDS a mile long... That's how you know it works!

I just throw them in the tumbler with corn cobb media.

My benchrest brass i wipe off with a paper towel while i check them over while cleaning primer pockets, brush out the necks, clean out flash holes with wilson depriming pin and lightly chamfer and debur.

I just use a paper towel but it does require wiping each one individually. I normally only size in 20 to 40 round rifle increments so it's not a big deal to use a paper towel. Don't like the idea of getting solvent on my bare hands.
+1...I use disposable rubber gloves for the entire reloading process. My wife run will run me out of the house with dirty hands.

In American English you can use odorless paint thinner, alcohol or dishwashing liquid and "HOT" water.

And if you are going to use anything that makes the cases wet with solvent or water then a sonic cleaner is the best choice with dishwashing liquid and a little LemiShine. No dust or media stuck in primer flash holes or peened case mouths.

I bought the Lyman clone sonic cleaner below and like it better than my vibratory tumblers or wet tumbling with my STM tumbler.

this is a little off from your question but after you neck turn and are finished with that part of the process, I just wipe the imperial off with a dry blue paper towel after resizing. I quit tumbling or cleaning my brass if im using them in a match. just for the info, after I neck turn I do tumble them to get the lube out of the neck but after that time I stop. good luck and ymmv
