Best scope for under $1000?

Just ordered a Remington 700P .308. Must go up to 20X power or more. I prefer American made. I really want a Nightforce scope! I like Leupold. Have not used any other top brand name scopes. Need some recommendations!

I would go on ebay and find a used leupold 8.5x25 -50mm scope. You can find them, just be patient. I bought mine there new for around $800.00. If you check this web site daily, you can find some real good buys.

I got a helluva nice Bushnell 4200 4 X 24 mildot for half that. It's not as good as my Leupold 6.5 X 20 TMR, but at half the price it delivers 80% of the value.

Been using Leupold for a looonnng time with no issues at all. No repairs, always tracks well, can see mirage well, great eye relief, good resolution and color. Best and easiest guarantee in the business and made in the USA.

+1 for the sightron and the bushy 4200 is great also for a great price.

the sightron is hard to beat. if this a target rifle that 50x magnification is nice. if your okay with 24-32 magnification then viper pst is worth a look in the $800-$1000 range and is available with f.f.p. if you desire that.. ive never owned a nightforce but i have heard comparisons claim that the viper pst's are equivilant. the bushy 4200 and 6500 both are good for the money imo, i personally own several of both of them. also the millet scopes do really well for the price (about $400 ish last i checked) maybe even better than the bushnells. i dont like that they have 35 mm scope tubes only because i like to use burris signature rings and they are not available in 35mm. best thing to do is go to a retailer and look through some of the scopes your considering if this is possible.
