Best scope for 22lr benchrest

Amazing as old as the Weaver T-24/36 scope family is, it's still a reliable go to for many shooters. While not the best by any means it sure has a strong following.

I bought one of the SVSSED 10-50x60TD scopes late last summer/early fall and put it on a V22S to replace the SIII 45x45ED I had on it. As expected, the SV was much brighter, and that geared 2-speed parallax is a dream to focus with, especially when compared to the rather stiff parallax knobs on most of the SIII scopes I own. But my gawd is it huge!

I pulled it back off the V22S and moved it over to a BAT 3L LRBR rifle in 6 Dasher that I shoot BR Varmint Silhouette with, thinking the deluxe parallax adjustment would be more useful while shooting small targets from 200-500m. When I put the 45x45 back on the V22S, it struck me how much darker it is than the SV, so I'm thinking of trying a SIII 10-50x60 in the 45x45's place. And since I'm not too far out from having another V22S ready to go for smallbore prone, I'm looking for a scope for it. If I'd try one of the SIII 10-50x60s on the BR V22S, then I'd know whether one was going to work on the prone rifle.

The discontinued T-36 is great for starters but for those on a tight budget the Mueller 40x is a steal (agout $300). You can use this scope to improve your skills (breathing, trigger control, and most important reading the wind). I learned more about reading the wind shooting BP Silhouette. Use wind flags.

Perhaps not the "best", but the Weaver T-36 is hard to beat.
If the will hold up over time. I used to use them on 13.5 lb score benchrest rifles(6 over time) and all ended up failing to hold POI or when bonkers when trying to adjust windage and/or elevation. Can't get them repaired or replaced as far as I know. Think about a Leup 35, 40 or 45X at a minimum.
