Best rings in YOUR opinion.

Lots of good ones. Check out the new Zeiss rings

I use almost exclusively 6 screw NightForce Ultralights, they consume some real estate but on the hard recoiling guns I shoot they are hands down the most reliable never slip rings I have ever used.

The new Zeiss rings are really nice, the are made by Tier one in the UK and have internal grooves multiplying the clamping force, the rear ring also has a machined in level.

I run a set of Badger Ordnance aluminum rings on a 34mm tube that haven't been lapped on a 6.5 Creedmoor bolt gun with no issues. I also run two Badger Ordnance 30mm Unimounts on a 6.5 Grendel AR and 5.56 AR that also haven't been lapped and again no issues. Of course keeping in mind that all three rifles are heavy for caliber with lite recoil. I do have strong faith in Badger Ordnance products though. I have no experience with the Leupold 35mm IMS 20 MOA extended mount I just picked up for a Leupold Mk5 HD 5-25X56 scope. Again the mount and scope are going on a 6.5 Creedmoor AR, so heavy rifle with fairly lite recoil. I would have rather had the Badger Ordnance Condition One mount instead but Badger Ordnance was out of stock and I couldn't find one at a comparable decent price at the time somewhere else.

I haven’t used a lot of different ones to compare but I’m running Hawkins Precision rings right now and really like them. I had some Warne rings at one point too but I like the Hawkins a lot better.

My first choice is NF steel and haven't ever had any issues with them whatsoever. As a less expensive alternative, I've got several rifles setup with Warne Tactical rings and a few others with Warne Maxima rings on more classic style hunting rifles, which have all worked perfectly for me. I'm honestly not sure why Warne isn't more popular. I don't lap, but I do use blue loctite on all screws & torque to spec, following the appropriate order for screw torqueing. When I hear or read of scope rings slipping, moving, etc. I always wonder if they are torqued to spec, following the instructions for screw torqueing order. I know I've diagnosed several scope/mount/ring issues for friends, on their rifles, over the years and in nearly every single case the issues were due to improper torqueing. Just my $0.02.

I also really like Seekins rings. Hard to beat for the money. Here’s a set of 30mm Seekins I recently installed on my 338-375 Ruger for a new Trijicon Tenmile 4-24x50 scope. The 0.97” high Seekins rings have perfect clearance for a 50mm objective with a Sendero contour barrel and one piece picatinny rail on a Rem 700. Also fully bedded them to the scope tube with JB weld.

I’m on my second set of Ken Farrell rings. They work very well and have never left a mark on any scope I’ve mounted in them.

I mess with smokeless muzzleloaders and have for years, they shoot large heavy bullets fast.
275-350 grainers from 2750-3250 FPS.
they also generate a LOT of recoil, even with a good brake
they are also hard on scopes, a scope that can take the recoil is generally very heavy and it takes really good rings to hold a heavy scope on a hard recoiling gun.
some of the rings I have used;
Seekins
NightForce
Leupold
Warne
TPS
Near
Ken Farrell
Burris
The new Zeiss made by Teir One in the UK

many others as well

A lot of these rings work very well on CF guns, even the Magnums, up the speed and bullet weight and many of these same rings slip trying to hold a heavy scope, most 2 & 4 screw designs just don't cut it in my world, been there & done that.

I have settled on the 6 screw NF Ultralights, well made, fairly light, extremely strong.
Never had a scope slip after using probably 30 or so sets on different guns.

I agree that two screw rings are junk. I won’t even consider them

But good set of 4 screw rings, like Seekins or Tier One, can work very well if you bed them to the scope. A properly bedded set of 4 screw rings will have better grip than any un-bedded set of 6 screw rings. I bed all of my scope rings and one piece mounts.
