Best Rifle Choice?

No experience with either, Tikka or CZ in a 204? Truck, tractor rifle. Thanks, Scott
I had a CZ 527 Varmint model in 204 Ruger and it shot the factory Hornady 32gr Superformance ammo very well.

Never owned a Tikka but I hear they shoot well.

I don't think you can go wrong with either so pick the model CZ or Tikka you like best and have at it.

Never owned a CZ but I have several Tikka's - all shoot great with tailored reloads. I like mine a lot.

My favorite is the 223 Rem T3X Varmint Model with the 24" heavy barrel and vertical pistol grip. My is a sub 1/2 moa rifle with tailored reloads. The vertical pistol grip aligns my trigger finger perfectly with the trigger.

I like the T3X Lite models in 223 Rem and 243 Win. for stalking while hunting since these are light weight and a joy to carry in the field. Mine shoot great for a light weight sporter (i.e. 1/2 to 3/4 moa range give or take).

The only aspect of these Lite models that I don't like is that in heavier calibers the recoil is unpleasant. My 308 is brutal but that's because I'm an old fart, small frame, and have become recoil sensitive in addition to having a spinal condition that doesn't tolerate recoil very well anymore. Even without these personal factors I wouldn't choose the Lite models if all you intend to do is shoot off the bench but for hunting and roaming the fields / woods they may be the optimum rifle.

Look at the ruger american predator. If its going to be a truck gun get one that you dont care to ding up. I have one in 204 and thing shoots amazing.

Magazines suck on these. Had one. Just saying.
I heard and read about all the magazine issues after I had played with mine quite a bit.
I have one in a Oryx chassis that uses factory mags. Another in a Boyd’s stock with DIP bottom metal. And yet another in a B&C sporter stock with after market bottom metal with a pop open floor plate.

Factory rigs, open the action with the bolt back and they will latch fine.
Yeah I have tossed some money at them, but I got what I wanted and am still under the price of a CZ 527. I am probably the only guy that dislikes the 527’s.

There are two maybe three outfits offering flush fitting bottom metal. All is worth

Got it. But knowing all that a Tikka is a better option for the money IMO. I just picked a brand new tikka T3 up a few months back for $575 after dealer fees. That’s hard to beat.

I bought, a Tikka T-3 in .243 Win a few Months ago. And I "was" going to make, a 6SLR out of it by reaming chamber and bbl setback, by Gun Smith, Mike Bryant of, Texas. THEN,. I shot IT ! Sub 1/2 MOA with, MOST Bullets / Loads that, I tried and shot, 1/4 MOA with Berger 87 HVLDS ! Needless to say, IT's STILL, a .243 Win !
After I burn the barrel out, THEN, I'll make, a 6XC or 6 SLR out of it ! I have 2,..very accurate, Tikka's now !
Check Free Float, Clean & Break in bbl with, a lil' JB's, ADD a YoDave Trigger Spring, Bingo, almost Custom Rifle,.. accuracy ! For many $$$'s,.. LESS !

.....and working the bolt is sooo smoooooth! Tikka Tikka Tikka!!! I own six or seven, I think. It’s hard to keep track. Every time I let a friend shoot one, they want it. I usually let them have it and I start looking for another one.
