Best reloading equipment?

Hi guys,

I'm new on this forum.

I reload a 308 with a rockchucker press with redding competition neck die set.

I have a new 6,5 - 284 rifle with 0.292 neck lapua brass/bullets and vld bergers.
What is the best and most precise reloading equipment today?

Press: RCBS / Redding / Abor / Harrell or something else?
Die's: Wilson / Redding or something else?
Neck turnig by hand: Sinclare / K&M ???

Who knows whats best?!!

Hello,
You really can't beat the Rockchucker for a press.
Brass turning, either mentioned. Biggest thing is the operator.
As for dies, Neil Jones Custom Products. His powder measures are also not only the best but he is the original designer of the Culver measure.

Since you are asking only of the BEST, I assume money is no object. I can't get ALL the best stuff, but if I could.....

Bruno O-frame press,I think it may be just a Bob Dodd with Lester's name on it) for threaded dies. Just about any arbor press is suitable for use with hand dies. I use an arbor press for all bullet seating. I have 2 RCBS presses in my reloading room and a Harrell's that I load at the range with.

Dies: Jones would probably be a good route, but many gunsmiths offer custom dies to match YOUR chamber. Harrels makes a great FL die, but only for PPC and BR dies.

Neck turner: Pumpkin probably stands at the top of the heap. I use a Stiller,just like a Pumpkin) and a K&M and both turn out consistent neck.

As you can see, I don't use any of the items that I would consider the absolute best, but they all work for me.

NVTHG is correct in that Homer Culver is the designer of the "Culver style measures" that are now made by company's such as Harrell's, Jones, Dodd, Bruno and others.

Actually, Jones and Culver worked together on the design of the 'Culver' measure. Jones did the final changes to give what we now have.
All the 'others' are copies.

A custom die is not possible by my gunsmit.
He advised me to use the Wilson parts.

The dies from Neil Jones will work for me :thumb:
