best primers

OK guys I'm in the process of building a 6 br with a bat sv action,.272 8twist bartlien barrel. I'm wanting to shoot 105 amaxs out of it.wondering if there is a big difference between the cci#400&450,&the fedral#205&205gm would i be able to tell a big difference?

You'll sure tell a big difference if you choose the Wolf Russian SRM's.....
It will really depend on what particular brand your 6br likes....
Try them all and see for your self what it likes........ the Russians usually will give up less sd's and velocity spreads than any of the others in all my stuff anyways......

The best answer to your question right now is to use what ever primers you can find. Then ask yourself can I afford these primers once I find them.

The 450 primers have a harder cup than the 400s. I had problems with the 400s cratering and eventually piercing when the temp rose. Case pressure was high enough to pierce the primer and the shots became erratic. Switched to the 450s and haven't had a problem since. Remington 7 1/2s also worked with this load. I believe 450s are a small rifle magnum primer.

I was thinking of the same answer.

jes says 'try 450's'

I have asked this question before = And was told just to start low and work up.

I am using 30 gr of H4895 and cci 400s in my br.
What is the rule of thumb?

Start 3 gr lower or where?

There are some smart guys out there some one should put me close?

thanks
