Best powders for .223AI

What are the best powders for a .223AI 1-7 twist and 75-80 gr. bullets? Is 8208 suitable? It is my favorite for the 55 grainers.

8208XBR is *fantastic* in a 223AI with heavies.

24.9gr in Lapua fireformed brass gives me 2975fps (per Magnetospeed and verified with drops) with the 80 Amax through a 22" 1:7 barrel.

I have used Sierra's accuracy load 24.5 of Varget. It works well, accurate , and easy on brass.

I'd call it the medium side of medium-well...no issues using Lapua brass and CCI-450s in my rifle.

Sierra has an accuracy load for the 223 Ackley?

My load with Varget in the 223AI is 26.2gr which historically runs about 40fps slower than my XBR load.

Was really glad to hear 8208 is good, hadn't thought about the primer. I use Fed. 205 match with the 55's

I use R-15 currently, tried varget but the accuracy wasn't there and it ran a bit slower.
After playing with 8208 in a std .223, I cant wait to try it in the AI after fireforming the next batch of brass.
fwiw... The 205's were borderline for me before I had the bolt bushed. I had a few primers blank but my firing pin hole was quite large. I do use them now with no problems.

Has anyone tried Tac or Ar Comp in their 223 AI ?
I have some loads that I'm going to test but was wondering if anyone else is using those powders?

I run Varget with the 80 gr. A-Max loaded long at 2.495" COAL. 3050 fps and 1/2 MOA from a 26" 8tw Criterion tube. Love the cartridge as it is an over-acheiver!

I use H335. But I shoot 40-55 grain bullets thru a 1/13 5R bbl. Hunting Rifle.

N133 and the new AA2015 for everything 55 grain and lower. They are virtually interchangeable. For 52 to 55 grain bullets I fireform and shoot bugholes with 25 grains and then go to 26.5 with fire formed brass.
R10x is a touch slower. Like a 1/4 grain. Also excellent.
R15 for 55 and up. A 55 grain bullet with the case full is great load. 23.5 to fire form 25 grains with 80 SMK.

With 80 vlds I'm at 25.0gr Varget in both my 223ai. One has a 30" barrel and the other is 21". .100" freebore on this one.
