BEST LOADS for 6.5-06!

Anyone care to share their best powder suggestions for 130 grain bullets in the 6.5-06. I have been using mainly IMR 4831 or IMR 7827. I have a few days yet to order some powder at a good price with no hazmat fee so I might consider trying some others.

WW760 or H4350 with the 120's & 123's. N560 or 4831ssc with the 130's and 140's. JME. WD

130g Accubond, Win 25/06 brass, 52g of R#22, .020 bullet jump, cci 250 sealed the deal, tiny groups

123g Sierra MK, Winchester brass, 53g of R#22, cci 250, .020 jump is 1/4" groups in this Pac Nor barrel

140g SST shot bug holes also with R#22

I was running a 6.5-06 improved with both RL-22 & RL-25 shooting Bob C.'s 141's. I was running it at the top node and really don't want to list it because it is no place to start......The above info. is very helpful, I found some good accuracy with H-1000 but I liked the speed of the Reloader powders.......Just not so much the barrel life. It was definitely a " Hot Rod " chambering for 1000BR, just a bit too hard on brass & barrels for me. I wouldn't hesitate to make another one in a hunting platform.......Best of luck.

Regards
Rick

Re23 is very much like Re22 and Re22 start loads may be used when working up loads for Re23. Both Re22 & Re23 give real zippy velocities, I am now shooting some 130 Nosler RDF's with Re23 & necked up .25-06 PPU brass. H1000 is very difficult to find at my LGS'.

I've never bothered running anything lighter than 140s in that particular caliber, but H1000 has always worked well for me.

That's about $25 a pound + tax. Our "gun club" usually does a large component buy once a year. Fed 210 large rifle match primers are $32/1000 + 7% tax. Time to stock up.

I found 6.5-06 and 6.5-284 load data was interchangeable in the rifles I have. H4350 50grns and a 140 Berger works well.
Hi Walt. I've search and searched for 6.5-06 load data here in Australia and can find very little which is relevant. I have just chambered in 6.5-06 LA. I'm will be running 140 gr Hornady ELD-M's. I have ADI AR2209 powder, which is equivalent to H4350. I have a 24 " barrel. I was hoping to get 2900 fps with that combination. Can you please give me the powder weights you used for the 6.5-06 using H4350 and 140 grn projectiles.

You posted you use 50 grns of H4350. Nosler load data has a max of only 48.5 grns (2808 fps).

Many thanks
Jason

Jason, I was using this for 1000 yard competition in a 30 in barrel. 50 grs was safe in my rifle with my chamber. I suggest you start at 44-45 grs and work up in your rifle.

In my any/any rifle (6.5/06) I was using winchester 25/06 brass necked up. Had excellent results at 1K using H-4831 In my 30” Krieger barrel. I’d start about 52 grs and work up. Also used either Wolf LRP or Federal 210M’s

N560 works quite well. In my 6.5/06 AI, I was at 3120fps with 140's
IMR 7828 not far behind. Both shot pretty well
Thanks for that, I recently bought one to play with. Lightweight varminter - BSA with a Pac-Nor barrel. I gather the previous owner ran it on H1000. Do you use magnum primers with those loads?
