Best “house” flashlight recommendation

Streamlight litebox may be ideal for what you want. We’ve used them for years in local fire Dept. I have two at home one old one and one led newer one and they can sit in a charger until needed - ac or dc if you wanted one in vehicle. On ac if power is lost light comes on. Newer led bulbs Last hours and you can easily see 100 yards at night. Two versions of bulbs i think are available flood and beam. I have never replaced batteries or bulbs in either. Only downside is price tad over a Ben for each. Durable case on them too

For power outages, high lumen narrow beam aren't necessary but a lantern style light would be. I'd be looking for 2-3 fairly bright LED lanterns to light up rooms when you walk into them. Not so much tactical lights for blinding brightness and tighter narrow beams. Streamlight and Coleman both make some good led lanterns. I guess to me, any flashlight would work as it's a temporary source of light to find items(unless it's for defense purposes). For lighting up a room for possibly hours from outages, the lantern would be my choice for lighting.
