Ive had one for a while. I actually prefer the one with shell holders. And believe it or not Prvi Partizan 45-70 brass does not fit in the RCBS Universal. Oh I can get in but it is a royal pain. Winchester brass slides right in.Rcbs one size fits all works well for me.
Yes it’s slower and more tedious picking up every single primer for a hand held with no feed tray, but no more then press priming without a feeder tube. But there is value in it for some. For those who use the Sinclair, 21st Century and others without a primer tray. Do you find it tedious and slow picking up every single primer? I dont know if my hands could take it. I dont know if I have the finger dexterity anymore.
I ask because Ive used nothing else than the 2 RCBS has offered. But always looking for something better.
It becomes second nature and is not a problem. I use a flip tray so theyre orinted right, spread out right, and i close it up with a binder clipFor those who use the Sinclair, 21st Century and others without a primer tray. t had something to do with safety concerns with Federal Primers. I still have one and never had a problem with it.Anyone know why Lee discontinued their original hand held tool with the round tray on it? I have two and love them. I have others also.
Mount it to a block that can be clamped to your bench then removed. Thanks for the responses to my inquiry
I am going to try the Frankford Arsenal hand primer. Have one on the way. I have no problem selling it buying another if I dont like it. I do that with handheld archery releases all the time. With those you really don't know if you like it until you use it.
I would probably go the bench mounted route. But I am usually struggling for bench top space now. I also struggle the last few years with fine motor skills in my finger tips due to neuropathy. Thats the main reason I went with a tray system. Im going to have to find my press primer systems that I used eons ago when starting out and see if my hands can take picking up these tiny things.
There have been a few blow up violently. The newer lawyer inspired models blocked off the tray from the primer going in the case to hopefully stop the whole tray from going offAnyone know why Lee discontinued their original hand held tool with the round tray on it? I picked one up. I enjoy using it a lot. Its easy to use and adjustable. I have too many problems with neuropathy in my hands so I just didn't think my hands could take picking up every primer individually. So this was a good option. Well worth the money it cost IMO.Look at the frankford arsenal hand primer. It's comes with all the shell holders you might need . It has a adjustable dial for seating depth..
I really enjoy the one I have.
