Best Grease for Locking Lugs ?

I know every manufacture of gun cleaning products makes a "Gun Grease" but what is the "Best" Grease available to apply to a Bolt Action rifle's Lugs that have been Lapped in to insure smooth functioning?

Lithium
Moly
Engine assembly lube
Red and tacky
Kelblys
Etc...
I can’t tell a difference between any of them.
I like whatever is in a squeeze tube because it’s easier to keep the dirt out and containers with lids get your hands dirty.

Mobil1 grease......I like Hobo oil but not for the face of the lugs.

I clean my lugs off really well and use a touch of Belray marine grease. No particular reason. It's thick and I have it, so I use it.

I’d say any kinda grease is better than what 90% of the gun’s that I see have which is dry nothing. Tube of Lucas has worked for many years for me.

I've used several over years of bench rest shooting. Shooters Choice, Sinclair, TM....ect. Key is keep lugs greased lightly.

Bought a big tub of Lithium grease at O'Rielly Auto Parts for under $5. Use it on all my bolt lugs.
Lucas Red ranks high for me too.

I use Mobilith AW2, because I had a tube of it handy once and put it in a container on the bench. --Jerry

I did what you did carlsbad, I use Amsoil moly tube grease and put some in a clean working hands tub and apply it w/a toothpick. I think it's important to pull the trigger when closing the bolt on an empty chamber too

I use Montana extreme I feel most Grease products are adequate but Montana extreme has a syringe like applicator which is easy and mess free

I've been using Gun Butter grease. It comes in a tube but I dispense it into a small jar and apply it with one of those long tooth picks [I think they are used for hor dourves.

Interesting point about pulling the trigger when closing the bolt.

tw25b grease is my choice. The nice thing about it is that its thin enough that it doesnt gum up the bolt if it get on the bolt body like thick grease does. If the lugs are really lapped in well you need to grease them often!

If Jim Borden recommends it for his actions...that is what I'm going to use. I've not seen any galling on any of the 3 Borden's I've used it on and two of those have a bit of fireforming Ackley improved rounds with proper 0.004" 'crush fit' on the parent cases. It is provided in a convenient tube also.

TW25 is kind of pricey but its the best and slipperiest stuff I've found. Worth every penny of its cost.

I always used Dri-Slide on my auto pistolas'. One day
at the range I showed up with a dry bolt. and no grease
to be had, I had almost thought of taking a smear of the
trucks oil dip stick, then realized I had a can of Dri-Slide
in the range bag. Talk about easy bolt lift.....;)

Ever since my days in the military, I've used nothing but LSA for any gun grease/oil needs. I don't know what's in it, but I'm sure my tax dollars went into a lot of R&D.

I'll pop some popcorn.
I'll second this as a choice premium lubricant. Why the Army ever discontinued it in favor of CLP, I've never heard but I still buy all I can find and I still run it where it is appropriate. I've always used the "less is more" philosophy for firearm lubrication though I guess what I mean by that is that you just don't need very much of it in any gun. Get it on there, wipe it off, and you'll minimize the attraction of the contamination that leads to premature wear. Grease+Carbon= Wear. I have some very heavily used guns and they all still run just like the day I bought them.
