Best factory rifle?

A Remington 700 from their custom shop in what ever caliber you want !

It's all factory and a pretty nice looking rifle at that.

Regards,

Steve

It is hard to argue as there are lots of fine rifles out there. However if I had the cash and wanted something ergo friendly and accurate ,the trg is a good bet.I had a friend who had one and it is a cadillac compared to some of the rifles being made today. If you want something to build on off the shelf then remington would be the way to go as the aftermarket parts are endless.

The TRG-S sporter version isn't too shabby either IMHO. I've owned 3; and probably should have kept at least one.... if for nothing else, for the action.

A recall would bankrupt Savage, as they would have to jack up the sights and drive a whole new Remington clone underneath! ;D :)

Savage would be the only brand on my list & no worries about recalls all the time....... :P

Recalls? They don't recall, they just release a new model action every 6 months with different screw spacing but same crappy trigger system, oh, and the nut, lets not forget the nut! Savage releasing different model actions with same trigger system is like a really ugly chick getting a boob job so she can become a model. ;D

Anyway, back to the "best factory rifle thread". Like I said before, your needs will dictate your best option. Most on the list are at the top of the factory offerings.

Ugly screw spacing a a nut call it what ever I took my savage to the range Sunday evening and printed some nice sub 1" groups with it at 500 yards. Give credit where it's due damn things do shoot.

No mention of the Ruger 22ppc & 6ppc? :o Not current, but certainly should be on the list if you're talking about mass production "Factory" rifles. ;) WD

Hard to beat a Savage Palma or F-T/R rifle....let's see....F-Class World Championships F-T/R wins X4, 7 of the 16 team members run Savage based or stock Savage rifles and individual Golds at said World Championships with...how did Erik put it??....a crappy trigger and a barrel nut.

And I'm pretty sure Freddy Haltom shoots a Savage as well....2nd behind Larry Bartholome at the Berger Southwest Nationals in F-Open isn't too shabby.

Sorry, bubba...the results speak for themselves. :)

As for the "Salvage" remark by some "expert" earlier...what a silly thing to say. :)

You are right. Customs are so good that 9 custom rifles carry the weight of the 7 Savages.

Yes they do, the custom action won. :P

Erik, don't you feel silly wasting all that money on a Kelbly when you could have bought a Salvage and shot just as good? :P

Does this mean Erik got beat by a savage!?
