Best excuses for missing

Last Sunday: Let's shoot handguns at 75 yards so we have an excuse when we miss...

We used to blame the ammo, but now we're shooting our own reloads... So we can't blame the ammo anymore...

Of course there's the environmentals... Wind, sun spots, phase of the moon, etc.

What good ones have you heard? I need to expand my repertoire.

Most folks try to put all shots in the bullseye, but this guys says "I paid for the whole target and I'm going to use the whole target."

Just blame it on a bad case cause sometimes it just don't quite feel right when u seat that last bullet.

When I need it to count, like there is a nice buck near by, I miss because the target was too close and too big to miss, so I aim large and miss large because, easy shot, how can I miss ?

I shot a shotgun a lot....my pattern must have had a hole in it.
I ran out of BB's before my barrel got to it.
I got sweat in my eyes.
It just doesn't feel like my gun today.

Stool too short

parralax, scope pooped, scope fuzzy, scope quit

muzzle brake on next bench, hot girl on next bench, fat guy at next bench farted, guy three benches down dropped ejected brass down my shirt from his AR

squirrel!

brass too tight, too loose, too old, too new, not annealed, annealed wrong, bullets sticking to brass in neck

primer not working, different primer, not enough primers to go practice, not optimal bullet...(this topic can really be mined with the shortage issue)

Rest top loose

Bunny ears hung up on stock, gun not riding bags right, sweat on the leather bag, moisture in barrel from rain, rain drops hit bullet

I could go on..

True story .... I was at Camp Perry shooting rimfire sporter, I was in the prone slow fire stage, just as I went to pull the trigger one of those famous Camp Perry dragon Flys that are large enough to seen on radar, landed on my front sight.....scared the crap out me......
