Best cleaning bore guide w o-rings for the $$

I need 1 for a 6ppc and 1 for a 30 br. The ones I have now are universal - no o ring and let wipeout come back in the chamber.

Some of the best ones I've got didn't cost anything. They just need to be right sized for the chamber and cartridge you're cleaning.

I've got a few I've made with the right length of aluminum arrow shaft, and installed the needed rubber bushings, tubing, or O-rings as needed. jd

Beyond the O ring, to be effective in preventing rod contact with the throat rods need to have a bushing that stays on the rod that plugs into the back of the guide while the patch or brush is in the chamber. The two good sources for these have already been mentioned. Mike Lucas prefers to do business by email rather than phone.

Possum Hollow (old Sinclair type) is my favorite although I find nothing lacking in the Dewey guides.

In my opinion, the "O" ring feature is essential for a bore guide. The last thing you want is solvent draining into the action / trigger assembly. Titling the muzzle down helps but you still need a bore guide with an O" ring for max protection.

Lucas and/or PMA tool.
Most of the time PMA will have what you need in stock and Lucas you will have to wait just a little bit. Each seem to be similar in use.
Be careful on PMA about the rod insert, they use "for 22 cal rods" and will add about $20 for the 6mm insert, it is plain on the site and I didn't see it, just never thought anyone would use a 22 for a 6mm.

Also, if ordering PMA bore guides, make sure to tell Pat if you use the Boretech cleaning rods so he can include the correct rod bushing insert.

Possum Hollow is my pick, call him up. heck of a nice guy.......John
You know I had discounted these after starting with the Lucas ones with the guides which are superb. I picked up a couple of the PH guides for a308 Savage and a Sako L579 243 with the little inserts for the correct rods. I’m impressed with them to say the least. Look on PH site for the model you need, then go to Midway and they may have it sitting there in stock.
The only negative with the Possum Hollow is if you add the little rod inserts, it might squeeze a little solvent off your patch if you saturate it first. It’s really not a big deal though and most likely you will have a stock protector on anyway.
