Best Chassis Stock

Which Chassis stock is the "best bang for the buck"? I have a Cholate, they work but are "chunky". I would rather have a traditional looking stock that is not terrible heavy. But an excellent chassis is more important.

Best stock is a highly subjective, personal choice based on shooting style(s). My criteria for shooting in the field were much like what you stated, and after trying several I settled on a KRG Bravo. Too many good choices!

I have an XLR on a long action target rifle that works great. They have lots of options to configure to what ever your needs are. It didn't start out to be a target rifle but that's what I use it for now.

Mostly depends on your budget. The MDT is probably the most customizable, with the folding option, and weight kits. The MPA Matrix is closer to a traditional stock with a M-Lok forend.

Be aware the action may set lower than you like in a chassis. I tried one, had to go to extra high rings so
I could get any kind of check weld to the stock. Adjustable cheek piece is all the way down, have no idea why you would move it up.
Setting on the bags on the bench it looks almost silly like you would need a step ladder to look through the scope. Keeping the scope as low to the center line of the bore thoughts has been dismissed evidently.

I will stick with my Choate stocks for varmint rigs;)

Tried a KRG Bravo and now own 2. They are the best bang for the buck!
Very light and can load it up with quite a few add-ons.

I will add my vote for XLR. I have the Evolution stock and love it. Price was very good compared to many and it is stable. Have been shooting F-TR for 4 years with it and no complaints. Plus they stand behind their product and are great with customer service.

Many options to fit to what ever you are shooting.

Look into a manners stock with carbon fiber shell and carbon fiber fill I just have never warmed up to a chassis yet
I agree that the Manners STOCKS are really nice, the best imo. I have a T4AF on my long range target rifle but it cost twice as much as my XLR and I had to wait 8 months to have it built. The chassis stocks are a different animal and not for every rifle. They seem a little short in the forend for a 30" heavy barrel, but they have their place.
