Best bullet for mag length load- 243 win.

I have new ( to me) Remington 700 that I barreled in 243 Winchester. Looking for a bullet that will tolerate the long jump that mag length ammo has. I will be hunting with this rifle and shooting a few PRS matches. Thanks for the information.

What twist rate is your barrel?

For 8" or faster, Sierra 107s, Berger Hybrid 105s, Hornady ELD 108s or BTHP 105s would all be good choices.

For 9", Hornady 105gr BTHP

For 10", Hornady 87gr VMax.

The Nosler 105 gr. RDF likes a long jump to the lands. They aren't consistent enough in my rifles for competition, but your results could be different. If they shoot in your rifle, the BC is outstanding.

Edited to add: Your barrel twist may be well-suited to these pointy Noslers. I currently run 1:8 twist barrels. Some have reported that faster twist barrels have materially improved consistency with these bullets

I've loaded 243win for many years and overall the most tolerant to jump is the Hornady 105 bthp. But my first pick is always Sierra 107smk, which I never had any issues with OAL tolerance.

I have a 243 barrel 8" twist that shows no difference in accuracy with the 107 smk no matter where you load it. 0.030" in the lands or 0.080" jumping and everything in between is the same.
