I will have to argue that Paul! One of my best .22 cals is a Lilja 3 groove.

Caleb,

I also have a great Lilja barrel. It was made in 1992. Lilja was very small and made a great barrel back then. Trouble is, when you get a bad one you are on your own. A friend of mine recently went to Africa with his new rifle in .300 WSM. Lilja barrel. Ended up having to use the guides gun as his rifle was blowing primers due to excessive copper fouling after only ten rounds. Not a very happy camper, to say the least. Hope your good luck continues.

Regards, Paul

Try one of Mark Chanlynn left twist 6 grove barrels. He rebarreled my AI in 6XC and it a tack driver. Currently he his building a 6Creedmoor barrel for my gas gun. His barrels are notably faster then Bartlein.

I too have to side with Caleb85, I have several 3 groove 6 bore barrels from Dan Lilja and they all are shooters and EASY TO CLEAN, I did build a custom high dollar 300 Rum several years ago and the barrel was from Lilja, didn't shoot like it should and Dan Lilja replaced it. The smith that did the job swore by Dan Lilja's barrels. I think from my experience anyone can have a bad barrel once in a while. Having said that, any of the names mentioned would be a good choice. As for me I always go with a 3 groove if I can. My 2 cents. Rick

My 3 Lilja's are #3's and lighter and shoot very well in .277, .257 and .243. The .243 took a bit longer to clean up from the start but it came around after about 75 rounds.

Curious, No love for Rock Creek. I have 3 of their sporters and they also shoot extremely well.
