Best Anschutz model for .22 50-100yd benchrest

Looking for advice. What is the best and most accurate Anschutz model for .22 LR 50-100 yd precision benchrest? I'm looking to upgrade from my Sako P94S Finnfire varmint rifle with a Lilja barrel. Thanks!

There are a number of choices available. Anschutz single shot Match 54 barreled actions fit the two Anschutz BR-style stocks they make. It's worth noting that older Anschutz Match 54 (single shot) barreled actions will fit the BR-style stocks, but the wing safety can't be used.

The accuracy will depend on the barrel and the ammo. The vast majority of Anschutz barrels are very good for factory barrels.

The 1913 barreled action with a Anschutz BR-50 stock below. The 1907 barreled action, with a slightly slimmer and shorter barrel than the 1913, follows. It's in a free recoil style Anschutz BR 50 stock, which is without a butt pad as it's not made to be "held" by the shooter.

More expensive than the above are the 54.30 and 2013 BR 50 models. They don't necessarily perform any differently. Again, ammo selection is critical for best results.

Below is an Anschutz 54.30 BR 50 model. It has a barrel similar in dimensions to the 1907 shown above. Next is an older 2007/13. It has what's often called the "square" 54 action and has a clamped barrel.

Below is a 1973 1411 barreled action (same as a 1413) in a BR 50 stock. Many Anschutz Match 54 rifles this old (49 years) remain very accurate. A previously owned barreled action with a BR 50 stock can be a cost saving option.

Again accuracy will depend most of all on ammo selection. No rifle, whatever the make, can outshoot the ammo it's given.

Very helpful! Thanks for taking the time to post photos!!! I’ll be referring back to your post frequently.

how does the Lilja barrel shoot

lilja barrels are used on bleaker s the best rimfire prone rifles in the world or equal to all others

that barrel and the trigger are really important

then how does it ride the bags a real BR stock on it?

then chase the ammo

for a couple of grand the Annie may never work

case in point

take a dozen Annie’s and test 20 lots of ammo in each

take your sako and send to both rimfire ammo testing places on the usa
the ammo testing will most likely produce better results than buying a new annie

ew just means new not better

The best position rifles used at this time is the KK500 Walther. A friend has a new Bleiker and wished it was a KK500. Check the current worldwide results.

Good advice from Butch. Mine's a hammer.

The barreled action and stock were $2400 total, but that was a almost 2 years ago.

I assume you want a turnkey rifle meaning ready to go after you get it. there is one on BRC and I believe the seller is very well known in the RFBR circles.
the cheapest route and what I do is buy an older match 54 and sell everything but the barreled action and trigger and then have it re-barreled and put in a BR stock.

Butch,

Bleiker didn't do badly at the Olympics last summer. That said, the Walther offers the same ergonomics, a conventional bolt (simpler ejection), and appears to shoot very well for about 2/3rds the price of the Bleiker. That's an attractive combination.

Some of you know Joe Besche. I sent my new to me 1913 Anschutz to him as he offered to test ammo and set my tuner. Joe sent a photo of the target and said honestly it was the best shooting Anschutz that he has ever shot. It didn't care much for the 6 lots of Eley that I sent, but the Midas+ was great. He said it did best when he added a PQP bloop tube. James Pappas called them the Limp Noodle. Dan Killough has one on the way.
He will ship the rifle back with all the ammo information and tuner settings. Now the hunt will be on for ammo.

How much older are you talking about Lee? Where do you typically find these?

I shoot a 1976 Anschutz 1413 (MN54) in it's original stock. One problem with that stock is that because it was designed for 3-position International competition, it has a significant amount of "cast" built in. To make it work for benchrest, I built a custom rear bag rider that attaches to the butt plate base, that is parallel with the centerline of the rifle. I have also had it rebarrelled with a Shilen "ratchet" and had the trigger modified to 2 oz. It will definitely out shoot my capabilities, with the right ammo.
