Best $300 Annealing Machine?

6 BRA brass last a very long time without annealing, nevertheless have you looked at this one ?

Yup. I never annealed mine...i have about 600 pieces of Lapua...going on 20 years with around 20 firings a piece. Not a single split neck yet! That said, it's a tight neck so the brass doesn't get overworked...and I plan to anneal soo to even everything out.

I need to have a closer look at the Ugly...looks pretty slick and well made!

I am about to start a thread on the mods I did.

Let me know when you start the thread so I can find it. I would mod the AGS annealer to make the hole bigger where the brass drops into the pan. My 300 Win Mag cases reach the hole and tip, then get hung up because the hole is too small. I used a paper clip on top to keep the brass upright so it will always drop through the hole. I also researched speed control circuit board and motor replacement parts if anyone should need them.

I thought this might help anybody that has purchased the AGS annealing machine. For starters, this is money we'll spent. This annealer is very well made. It's compact size makes it all the sweeter. From what I understand the size might be dictated by freight/shipping costs. This particular size...

I actually ordered a larger diameter knob to help with the adjusting of the speed. I think the larger diameter would make it more friendly to fine tune.

please do. That would be a nice add on, along with me striking a better deal with carriers about shipping which now allows me to offer the AGS Annealer at a bit lower price, despite raw materials and components prices went up more than double.

I bought an Annie (out of the price range here) and am now hooked on induction annealing. It's simple, fast, and I can run it on my loading bench (powder, primers & ammo removed) without special ventilation. Water cooling the coil lets me keep up the pace. I got a flux concentrator coil (ferrite yoke) and am pleased with the efficiency - .223 in 1.2 seconds! If you can build your own induction annealer at this price point, it's definitely worth the effort.
