Nothing wrong with it if you really know what you are doing and your kill ratio is as high as when long range was considered 400 yards. The issue is thatI know that long range hunting is a hotly debated subject these days with strong opinions on both sides. With all hunting at all distances you have those who do it right and those who don't. Such is life.
The important fact in my mind is that long range hunting is here to stay and growing fast whether you like it or not. We should be spending our time and energy working to properly educate those who want to pursue this effort rather than trying to talk them out of doing so.
Telling folks how wrong it is and that they shouldn't do it is similar to telling folks some years back that they don't need an internal combustion engine vehicle because a horse will get you where you need to go just fine.

this long range craze is leaving many wounded animals out there; and at a much higher percentage. Let’s not forget some hunting basics:ethics-shoot at ranges within your capabilities. I’m sure I heard that somewhere before. Lol. Also it’s called hunting and stalking for a reason. That reason is certainly not sniping at 700-1300 yards. LMAO. In the end all these marketers hyping products to make money will self defeat themselves. Hunters will wound and reduce numbers and then even more restrictions will be set. As if there aren’t already enough. On any given day I would wake up and see 3 or 4 ten point bucks on my Pocono Pennsylvania property 30 years ago. Now I’m lucky if I see 2 full grown 6 pointers. What does that say to you? Out west there are higher numbers of game that were wounded and found dead. Only it’s not by the person that pulled the trigger or draw string. Anyhow,to each their own. I don’t begrudge long range hunters if they put in the time to develop a high kill percentage. And I surely do not advocate more hunting regulations even though they are necessary. Otherwise the buckaroos would make game extinct. KNOW YOUR CAPABILITIES! Especially all you weekend warriors. Stay safe all.
