Berger VLD Hunting 7MM 140 gr

Maybe the OP was getting more penetration without exploding because there may have been a little thicker jacket.

That's what I'm thinking. I guess a call to Berger is in order to see if the 7MM 140's are any different.

For 7 Mag velocities in the 3200 fps area, the 140g Nosler ballistic tip is a "stouter" bullet than the 140g VLD Hunting.

For this reason, I shoot the 180g Berger VLD hunting in the 7 Mag, R#22 at 2850 and R#26 at 3030 fps.
