Berger packaging

And then there are top shooters who intentionally bang their bullets with steel balls while putting coating on and they don’t have no issues with damaged bullets.
Age of internet, makes it easy to complain. This is great, Now I can blame my bad wind calls and bad shooting fundamentals on Berger’s new way of packaging bullets.

What top shooter coats their bullets?

Old bag, new bag, pretty much the same assuming someone is not at the packaging facility hand counting and carefully loading the bag. They are sure to have a counting machine that drops the rounds into the bag itself (or box).

I heard this tall tale: there are two engineers working at a car company. Engineer "A" figures out a way to make the vehicle make more horsepower AND get better mileage, at an increased manufacturing cost of 1%. Engineer "B" figures out a way to make the product 1% cheaper to manufacture at a small loss in HP and mileage.

One of these engineers get a bonus and a pay raise. The other does not. Your job members, is to figure out which one...

Wouldn't the bullet be swagged to the shape of your barrel in the first couple inches of travel upon firing? And the pressure ring will be the diameter of the barrel lands.
I guarantee any ding on the heel of the bullet and it will be A flier. Matt

Is it me or does every post on here become a pissing match oh and let's see who is the know it all!!
I'm a dumb A$$ but years ago I built a 1k range and actually live on it. I have been testing for a verry long time. I'm still a dumb A$$ .
I was mearly hoping to get them to think about going back to what had worked for a long time. Oh I'm not a liberal or socialist so I do not feel compelled to share what I know for free.

David Tubb is the first name that popped up in my head. I’m sure there’s more than one top shooters who coat their bullets. Plus as you said, bullets get polished in cement mixers.

It may matter if you win more than half the national level bench rest matches, oh wait! Then you would be shooting custom bullets.....sorry OP can’t think of any excuses for you to base your complaint on;);):D:D.
Maybe worry less and shoot more.:p:p

Somewhere is heard that the bullets are made in Phoenix and packaged in Missouri. If that is true - makes me wonder about that shipping method.

I believe Bergers are chemically cleaned. I dont know of hardly any BR shooter (shortrange or longrange) who coats bullets. Matt

How much does it take to damage a bullet? Although my 500ct of 180 hybrids don’t have the tape around them, they don’t move around much in the box. I do hear them moving but can’t imagine they are damaged.
Dropping one on the floor i can see, especially a hard surface

It takes more than shaking around in a box. It takes a good whack but falling on the floor will do it most times

Not directed at you Dusty, the thread in general.
Hmmmm I wonder how careful the carrier handles the bullets being shipped?
Or if they even care if your parcel of precious bullets are tossed from one end of the truck or plane?
And if you detect a lil sarcasm then I've done my job.
How in the hell did we go from coming together to get a young man a rifle, to pissin n moaning about how berger packages thier bullets, all inside of 2 weeks. Jeeez!!
My suggestion by some dies get a few dedicated presses and make your own damn bullets.
See problem solved, glad I could help.
