Berger Match Results F-Open

When I shot the two 8s for the first two shots for record (second relay at 1000 yds), my first inclination was to roll over and play dead as I had 18 more shots to go!

That really shows the kind of focus it takes to win at this level.

Well done!

It sure was a great event. Congrats to you Shiraz ;D this was my first national event. I know what to expect now and I have some practicing to do ;)

Good to know there were so many forum members there. I wish I would have met some of you.

Allan and I shot together at the AZ Championship. And, except for this unfortunate tendency to find other's failures funny, he's a pretty good guy. ;)

You know me, I have that dark side, lol ;) besides, my failures for the match were funny enough :'(

Considering how much I struggled just to stay on the standard LR target on Sunday I don't know how you F-class shooters manage on yours. Was that smoke I smelled, from you guys spinning your windage knobs so much? Just kidding. Next year I will be joining you at the big end of the line in F-TR. I have a lot to klearn.

Five of the Top 10 are from Texas. And Texas only has ONE 1000 yard range.
I would also like to brag that the guns the five Texans were using - I barreled.
It was one tough four days. You would think you had it figured out - and up pops a REALLY wild shot. Killers.
Had a great time with ALL the shooters.
THANKS

Richard, not to forget that the entire Texas crown was not there.

I have no complaints about the barrel you chambered for me, that thing flat out shoots!

If all those Texans were there, how did a left coaster win? :) And that doesn't even bring up the matter of Alabama, Kentucky, Wisconsin and (gasp) California. I did notice that Texas seemed over represented on the entire roster. Maybe it's a shotgun strategy. If you throw enough Texans at something, one is bound to stick. ;)

Steve, if we won them all, people would stop coming to these matches, we have to keep it interesting you know! ;D

I miss counting John Myers in the top ten. Sorry that is six of the top ten and 11 of the top 20.
I don't know about the West Coast - but I drove through West Texas where Freddy and the Tex-Mex bunch hail from - and 20 MPH wind is a CALM day out there.
My hat is off to everyone at the match. We all had a least ONE good string to brag about. Steve - he had two the last day. I know - I was on the target next to him. He took away all my excuses.
Looking forwar to Texas State in a few weeks. Going to get interesting.
COME ON DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sure would like to come down, Richard. Texas State Championship is a few days after our California Palma. I was talking to Erik about it, had a good flight and could not get either of my darling daughters, both of whom I love deeply, to look after my dog for a few days. :( [br]
I've often said that the toughest F-Open club in the U.S. is the Houston club and I fully intend to shoot with you guys. Just not this time.
