Re: Berger Match Results F-Tr

I understand the Michigan Ftr team won the Ftr team match Agg.
Coach: Bryan Litz
Al Barnhart (team Capt.)
Bill Litz
Dale Sunderman
Doug Boyer
Were the firing members, other members of the team were Charlie Hayes and I suspect Jennifer Litz, the team Adj.

USA Ftr Development Team Blue came in second and USA F tr Development Team Red came in Third is what I am hearing. I also believe there was a 4th team that only shot on the Palma team day but not on the Saturday 1000 yd. Again this is what I am hearing by e-mail I have not seen any official published results.

I am also hearing that both the Mich Ftr team and USA Ftr Development Blue Team both broke the existing Ftr Palma record with the USA Ftr Development Blue team firing the higher score, two points higher than the Michigan team, and setting the new record. Michigan came back on Sunday and won the single 1000 yd team match that day and in doing so took the Agg. win.

Yes, except for the practice days, this was a challenging week.

Double congrats to the top dogs. They earned it.

When conditions and competitors are as tough as they were in Phoenix, the winners deserve our accolades. It was no accident or luck that they finished as they did. [br]
Congratulations to all.

I don't know whether this will be readable, but this is the best I have for F-Open results. Damn phone camera. Try right-clicking on the image and selecting "Open image in new tab" or "Open image in new window." That will show it a little larger. [br]

Congrats to ALL the competitors. As I understand it, conditions were tough for all.

Eric Cortina and Steve Blair, I was hoping to get up to Ben Avery to watch you two compete. But circumstances beyond my control prevented me from making the trip. We had a neighbor's dog that barked at anything and everything and it was less than 100 feet from our motorhome. To top it off the bark was not only loud but very annoying. Complaints to management and the dog's owner accomplished nothing. So the simple solution was to move the motorhome to another park. We spent Friday and Saturday finding a reasonably priced site in a quiet park (the parks are all pretty full this time of year in AZ), and we moved Sunday.
One plus - I am now only 6 minutes from the Rio Salado Sportsman's Club rifle range at Usery Mtn. :)

Congratulations to Mr. Shiraz Balolia for winning the F Open Championship in Arizona today!!

Well Done My Friend.

I am glad to see this guy win. A great shooter by any measure!!!

Thanks, guys!

It was a tough match and had to work very hard at it to keep up with highly experienced top dogs like Jim Murphy and Danny Biggs. Freddy (Tex Mex) is an amazing shooter whom I first shot against in Raton last year. Watch out for him!

Good shooting Shiraz!

Shiraz didn't do anything special. He just shot better than a hundred other guys in occasionally unspeakable conditions. What's so hard about that? ::)

Thanks, Erik.

Steve - the conditions were indeed horrific at times. When I shot the two 8s for the first two shots for record (second relay at 1000 yds), my first inclination was to roll over and play dead as I had 18 more shots to go! By the way, you also shot very well. I forget what caliber you were shooting.

Shiraz, I was shooting my .284 Shehane. You know, one of the nice things about shooting High Power, in any form, is that the result is not subjective. There is a numerical result that is not interpreted. At the end of the day, somebody wins. A big tournament offers ample opportunity to either fail or succeed. As we say in California, "You took home the bear." :)
