Berger hybrids.

So what's happening with the supply of these bullets we need for F class.
Basically none left on the shelves here in the UK and nobody seems too know when some will get shipped.

There must be millions of bergers on back orders worldwide..
If you cant get them in your country where there made we're very unlikely too see them for a long time..
I like hornady bullets..
The ELDM's shoot nice until they don't make the target.
Recently tried the Atips in the right twist barrel and they won me a club match at 2x 2 x 15 comp..
I'd had quite a bit of mickey taking over using them...!!
It was quite funny when I won lol

If business is that good for berger bullets why bother too go into business with somebody else..!!
Just expand for the demand.

F-Open is growing. The demand for 180 Hybrids is going to grow also.
That’s great! But Nammo (that now owns Berger) is heavily engaged in Norway’s defense industry. Considering their proximity to Russia, I’m thinking that company priorities are currently with defense related orders, not with competition shooters. Hopefully, the issues will soon be resolved…

I've developed loads for 3 different Bergers that are either MIA or just not suitable to me any longer. I even had a barrel throated for the 190 grain hunters.

For hunting rounds, I'm moving to solids or Hornady. For target, Hornady or Sierra. I'm done trying to chase them down.

I wonder how much material availability has hit them... copper and nickel are in very short supply, you have to buy almost a year out right now. Stainless and CuNi alloys aren't much better. That, combined with Eastern Europe being Eastern Europe again after a 60 year break, and I think priorities and limited supply are allocated elsewhere. Just a guess on my part.

Not just in Norway. They are neck deep in the American MIC as well.

Bullets last longer than even sealed powder or primers. In 2021 component swapping was the ticket to keep matches going, guys flat didn’t want money after coming to believe the next price hike was weeks away. Accepting money instead of barter was somehow like losing ground on committed funds to the hobby that had already been scarified.

While swapping kept match attendance up, orders didn’t slack. I bought all kinds of powders that surfaced in at least the same quantities as my mainstays that I found almost zero of at retail. On Berger match bullets, guys decided to stockpile placing huge orders. Bullets that are pre-sold don’t ever appear in inventory. I’m sure Berger hasn’t run at full capacity with labor and material shortages of recent times but the situation also reminds me of long lines at the water fountain when all our friends in front are taking such long drinks; the button is never released but our turn still doesn’t come quickly.

Part of Bergers challenge is that a large chunk of what they sell goes to target shooters who buy in volume. With supply being what it has been for the last 10 yrs I don’t see that changing. Personally I haven‘t bought less than 2k in a single order in yrs. For me 2k isn’t hoarding, that gets me from now till the SWN in Feb. and I’m far from alone. I know a lot of guys who order 10k a pop.

When your clients gobble them up like that it’s darn hard to make them fast enough.

That would be the same over here..
Some buy large quantities..
The panic buying of the bergers is long gone now..
We'll have too start on sierras and hornady shortly..
I know somebody who's getting 3 x 300wsm chamberings and orders 6000 x 215gr hybrids..
He maybe waiting a while on them me thinks..
Ive never bought more than 1000 bullets at any one time..
there double the price over here compared too what you'll pay.
I've got a variety of bullets in stock that will last me a year or more from now..
Ive always been one for having alternative loads for exactly this reason..!!
usually 4 or 5
Lapua scenars still seem plentiful but my rifles are not throated for them..
All my 7mms are throated for 180 and 184gr hybrids

I emailed berger and got a reply..
There stocking up on jackets and cores ready to do a really big run of 215gr hybrids and some other 30 cal bullets..
No 7mm hybrids to be made for the time being..!!

Less then a year ago, Bart Sauter let me know he had the dies
to make the 7mm bullets your all looking for. I was looking for
one a bit shorter for the short porch matches. Bottom line is, it
takes Jackets, and there are none......In this day and age it may
be good to start looking at turned solids. Going to be twice the
money though.

Post this last week on Berger Drought .
Email Reply from Mr. Holman at Berger ! In regards to 7mm 180 HB.
At this point Aug or Sept. 2022 for the next run.

They are loading lots of Ammo.

AFAIK we're not allowed too shoot monolithic bullets at Bisley and probaly all MOD ranges aswell. I'm not really sure where we can shoot them..!

I havent seen a dealer that is willing to sell 2k to one person, much less has the inventory to do so. Where can i get in on this action? I'd be happy just to make a back order.
