Berger Bullet question

NC/Br Shooter

Silver $$ Contributor
I've been shooting short range for a short time, and from time to time at one point I have shot the Berger column Bullet. I haven't shot it in quite some time but always wondered why Berger doesn't put a weight on the bullet. The box says varies. At least it did on some information I saw about the bullet. I know the bullet weighs about 64 grains

If I recall correctly in testing a specific lead core column height was found for best performance. With the material variances between different lots of materials if they used the same weight core it would vary in height. So if they keep the core height the same the weight will vary.
