Berger 6mm heavy non-VLD test

All,

We are making 3 new heavy 6mm non-VLD. We are using a tangent ogive, which will make these bullets much less sensitive to seating depth than VLD. The BC will be slightly lower than the VLD but if they group well with little or no seating depth tweaking then they will be good for those who do not want to adjust for the VLD.

I need shooters with good equipment to test these bullets so that we can choose which weight will become a permanent part of our line. ,This is how the 22 cal 73 gr BT came to be)

Each selected shooter will receive one box,100 bullets) of the following at no charge:

New 6mm 105 gr BT
New 6mm 107 gr BT
New 6mm 108 gr BT

Each bullet has been made using the same die. You will need an 8" twist to stabilize these bullets.

To be selected as a tester you need to send a list of the following details to Michelle Gallagher at michelle.gallagher@bergerbullets.com or fax to 714-447-5478:

It is important that you submit your details only if you will have the ability to test these bullets by June 15th. The deadline for these submissions is Tuesday May 29th so gets yours in right away.

Please add the following to your submission:

How will you test the bullets?:

This would include facts such as available range, chronograph or no chronograph, during a match or not and/or any details you feel might be worth mentioning.

We are not going to select only those you can shoot 600 yards over a chronograph or in a match so don't feel that if you have only a 100 yard range and no chronograph that you would not be eligible.

We will select shooters who have different types of testing planned so that we can get the best representation of multiple types of applications.

Something else to keep in mind is that the bullet we choose to become a permanent part of the line may not have worked best in your testing but was the better performing bullet in most of the testing. One thing I know to be true is that there are very few,if any) absolutes in shooting.

Eric Stecker

Thank you very much to all of you who have responded. We are overwhelmed with applications and have decided to close the application period early.

The shooters who will be testing the new bullet have been selected. They will be notified and the bullets will be shipped on Tuesday.

Regards,
Eric Stecker
