I am excited to announce the 22 cal 82 gr BT,non-VLD) as an official addition to the Berger Bullet line. The 82 gr BT has performed exceptionally well in all tests. I want to thank those who took the time to shoot our new non-VLD design in several weights. Their feedback was the reason why we decided upon the 82 gr weight.
The G1 BC is .450 and we are recommending an 8†twist or faster. This bullet is perfect for those who shoot heavy 22 cal but do not like the sensitive nature of the VLD type bullets. All tests show that this bullet shoots very well at any OAL and with most loads.
At Camp Perry, Shawn McKenna used this bullet on his way to a 2nd place in the NRA Civilian Service Rifle National Championship,3rd place overall Service Rifle). He relayed shooting more Xs at 600 yards than ever before.
Nick Till used an 80 gr BT that was made on the same jacket and die as the 82 gr to win 1st overall in the NRA Service Rifle National Championship. Nick chose the 80 gr because he had loads already developed for another 80 gr and we provided him with these new bullets too late for him to do any thorough testing of both weights.
Both Shawn and Nick used the 22 cal 73 gr BT at 200 and 300 yards.
For those of you who want to know the G7 BC it is .228. Keep in mind that the G1 type BC,.450) is the BC used by all bullet makers, for comparison purposes).
Our next run of 22 cal 82 gr BT will be on the press in a few weeks.
Regards,
Eric
