Berger 25gr 17 Cal. Bullets

Has anyone shot any of these yet? I'm going to try some in my 17 Remington. Just can't find the 25gr Hornady HP, anywhere.

NOP......But my CZ Varmint likes the 25gr Vmax better than 25gr hp w/Benchmark powder, have you tried the Vmaxs 25grs

A friend of mine once shot a .17 Rem @ 600 yards prone using the Berger 30's, he cleaned the target with 11 X's if I remember right. Shot it at Oak Ridge.

I have always used 25gr HP Hornady but like everything can't get them, plus can't get the Vmax. Find these Bergers thought I try them. The 30's are moly don't want to start that.

I used to shoot them in my 17 AH and they shot really well, I don't anymore because I went to the 20 gr vmax.

I have shot them in my 10tw .17 Remington Fireball. They shot okay but mine likes the 25 grain V-Max better. For Woodchucks the terminal effects are better and exits them less. For Fox the Berger/Hornady HP would offer better penetration, IMHO. I make sure when shooting the V-Max at the latter I stay off the shoulder. Bottom line is what your rifle likes and what you can get!
Although my 10tw barrel stabilized the 25 grain V-Max I have since switched to a 9tw 3 groove Pac-Nor.

I have shot both 25gr. Berger and the 25gr. v-max in my .17 rem. I found a fast moving load with an average velocity of 4165 fps. Both bullets shot very well in my rifle but many of the Berger bullets would disintegrate before hitting target so I stayed with the v-max. I will add that I have burned the throat out of this pac-nor barrel and am currently shooting a reduced load 3500fps with a big bullet jump to whatever lands that are left with very good accuracy. I will eventually be putting on a new barrel but I am satisfied with what this rifle is doing now even though I don't have the speed anymore. I never had a 25gr. v-max disintegrate even when I had a few going out the barrel at 4700 fps a time or two....LOL. For me both were very accurate bullets and as MrMajestic said I would shoot what yer rifle likes.
