Bent rims after sizing

One Shot is the best case lube on the market...if you use it correctly. If you use it incorrectly, it may as well be as if you hadn't used lube at all. I've done tens of thousands of rounds with One Shot and narry a problem after I bothered to read the instructions and use it properly.

Ask any die maker whats a common theme with stuck cases in dies sent back to them. Its always one shot. Remember that preacher in kentucky that had all the rattlesnakes in church? He got bit just like every one shot user will eventually.
I have sized thousands upon thousands of cases with one shot and never have stuck a case with it!…. Now you can’t put Imperial on with a trowel and get poor results and if you spray one shot in and go right to sizing your going to have problems!… the real down side to one shot is it’s cost!…. Then every now and then a can quits working when it’s still full so it’s even more expensive!…. I’m a die hard imperial fan but if I needed to do a 1000 .223 for a machine gun I would use one shot or something similar.

I got a lube pad with imperial melted into it with a heat gun. Very slick for progressive operations

Do you reheat each use or just to melt the wax to soak in the first time?

Actually i pretty much liquify it in the tin then pour it all around like mustard on a burger. Then i take a 50bmg case while its still warm and just roll it all around hard spreading it out. You may have to reheat the pad a bit but be real careful with the heat on that

make sure your vacuum hole is clean. you could possibly get hyd lock, clean the die with B cleaner or acetone, spray the oneshot in the die first give a good smooch, lube the nks inside with graphite maybe a little, maybe not, just make sure your not sizing the brass tooooo much... if this makes any sense

I like this method because you can lube a lot of cases and not get it on the necks or shoulders
Thanks Dusty I always do it with thumb and index fingers pretty much and it works well but I have a new rcbs pad I’ve never used I’m gonna give your method a try, I don’t get any on my necks or shoulders the way I do it either but I could do several at a time your way. Is it pretty consistent on each case getting consistent lube?…

Like others have claimed, I used One Shot for many years and never had a stuck case. I applied to the cases using a Sinclair lube rack which allow a 360-degree access to the cases. Like others have said, let it dry completely before sizing and make sure you obtain complete coverage of the case.

I switch a number of years ago to Imperial Sizing Wax. The reason simply was for cost savings and inventory. I was always running out of One Shot or, I get a can that the pressure would drop off leaving a lot of lube material remaining in the can that I couldn't use. It got expensive and frustrating.

So, I switched Imperial Sizing Wax. Besides doing an outstanding job of lubing cases, I can go for years on a single tin of wax sizing thousands of cases. It does take a little bit of experience to get the application correct to avoid dent cases, but it's not a steep learning curve.

I clean my sizing die regularly like others have said since lube can build up. Also tumble cleaning cases and removing any tumbler media residue helps a lot in promoting smooth sizing.

If you're using a sizing button in a conventional full sizing die, polishing the button with very fine emery cloth to produce a "glass like" finish also aids in smooth sizing. Just go very slowly checking diameter frequently with a quality micrometer.

Also, clean your shell holder occasionally since debris can build up in the crevices.

When I used One-shot, I would lay the cases on a large piece of butcher paper, lining up necks in one direction (usually in rows if I was doing a bunch at a time. Hint: A yardstick pressed up against the case heads or mouths lines them up really neatly.) Spray at 45 degrees from the neck side to make sure you get some in the neck and over the body. Just a quick pass across the row of brass (or several passes, depending on how many rows I ended up with), then roll each row so the brass turns 180 degrees, and another pass of lube. Wait 5 to 10 minutes for the stuff to dry, dump into a container to move to the press, and start sizing.

Works well, but I changed to Royal spray lube when I had time to run them in a tumbler afterward - that stuff is really slick, if somewhat messy (your hands will get coated with lube - I didn't wear gloves while sizing, which now seems rather short-sighted.)

I've moved away from shooting bulk stuff, so haven't done this in a while.

Wear a latex or Nitrile glove use Boeshield T9 ,It Doesn't fail !. Shallow cardboard box lay cartridges down ,spray and then role cartridges to spray other side .

Pure Carnuba wax is as Good as anything on the market and a lot less $$ than Imperial !.

A tip on sizing cases ,especially oversized cases . I do a Ton of 7.62x51 Military once fired and have small base dies for Gas guns . When grabbing a case out of the box a glove allows you to roll it in your fingers ,thus lubing or spreading lube more effectively . Also HALF size ,then Rotate the case 180 Deg. in the shell plate and continue to FL resize . I NO longer have to lube inside My case necks ,as MY expanders have been coated and are Good to Dry size . However Without expander or inside case necks being lubed ,you're fighting an uphill battle .

IF You stick cases after doing that then ; A : YOU'VE got the WRONG caliber Die or B : You're Not lubing properly .

I use the shake n bake method use ziplock bag spray bag with oneshot inside the bag, then drop in 30 cases spray 2x then shake let dry load, then clean with rag & acetone, gets a good coating on the brass, I use to use sizing wax but either will work, I think

Bushing sizing dies don't need lube inside the neck. If using expender button on the sizing die, I make sure inside the necks have lube. This makes sizing effortless with very consistent measurements.

Yes its consistent as long as you leave enough room on the pad for them to make like 2 revs on there so like 8-9 223 sized cases
