Another thing to think about -- I went for years thinking I needed a bunch of cast-off, but it turned out I was mounting the gun wrong, trying to get my eye flat on the rib. I eventually learned to shoot with my eye higher above the rib, so that my cheekbone is not in the way of the stock preventing the rib from lining up with my eye. I no longer need much cast-off with most stocks and I am a much better shot.Is there a way to make my own cast off shims without having to order the kit? I'm right handed and need right cast. Can't I take a little off pistol grip to get the desired cant?
