benefits of good case prep

i just pulled 30 bullets from loaded ammo. i used a common impact puller with a pad of foam in the nose to prevent tip damage. i trim cases to length, every time, the deburr in and out and then brush the inside of the neck. these bullets look NEW...no marks no damage.
Do you have pictures of pulled bullets from non prepped brass to compare?

My biggest problem with pulled bullets is that when they are pulled, some get deformed enough that the seating in the new round seems to be all over the place. This is the situation with some commercially pulled bullets.
The inertia puller should prevent this. A scratch on the jacket shouldn't be a problem with accuracy. But I am not a match shooter with a lot of ego on the line.

i do not do unprepared cases.
the best example i saw was published in an article on moly coating. rick jamison(sp) was telling the world that coating bullets was a waste of time since the cases removed the coating. his pictures showed bullets with the sides shreaded from unprepped case mouths

At the cost of components , travel and Match Fees , it's only prudent to use your "extra's" in the most meaningful way possible Why burn up 60 or 80 first line Bergers in a local Club Match , where there is no prize money , trophy , or anything else , except ego or vanity ? When you have twenty or thirty pulled Bergers , un-used from last years FCNC . I have a very low neck tension and use a Hornady collet puller . If it marks the bullet ? It gets a sharpie stripe , and becomes a sighter . Even for Club Matches . But I do know some very high ranking Sling Shooters who have zero , or less tension on their bullets . And they are both National and World Champions . You can actually spin the bullet out of their case , on a Comp round . I think we all try to do what works best for each of us , and there really is no wrong , or right way .
