Benchrest Accurate Barrel for Rim-X

Yes, very helpful, I have seen your rifle in other posts, and am considering something similar, as a strategy. I am converging (as of today) on a rifle similar to yours, before you switched from the MDT chassis. Maybe best described as the 90% benchrest solution, or a Verison 1.0, with some built in flexibility, which is one another reason I went with RimX, the ability to change barrels reasonably easily, and with stock that also has flexibility.

I have talked to several stock manufacturers over the last several days, including Foundation, and although I feel it would give me more accuracy than a MPA or MDT chassis, I kind of like the flexibility of the V grove chassis for later, especially since I didn't like the Manners and have no way to try out a Foundation in person, before buying it. I have am MPA Pro 2, and would not hesitate to get another or an MDT Elite.

In reality, the barrels are about the least expensive component of this rig, and after reading @padom post on the RimX more times that I care to admit, I believe I will get an ACE barrel from Manzell that will be pretty good, maybe very good, but I'm sure it will not be the only barrel of this rifle, so then sometime later, I will want to try a different one, maybe a Krieger, or a Benchmark, or who knows. Padom changed barrels how many dozen times in the RimX post? From how many manufacturers? Successfully, and was shooting tight enough groups to evaluate each.

I will probably get a tuner simply for experimentation, and will try it both on the Vudoo and RimX.

Bottom line, I know I don't know enough of what I like to get a final solution, so will have to muddle through it.

If you want something excellent, send it DI precision and get a mullerworks 16t. His wait time is probably reasonable given the vudoo debacle…

I had a rimx with a 26” competition contour proof prefit in a foundation stock that shot a heck of a lot better than the 2500x with a muller barrel I just had built.

From day one the rimx shot insanely good with many different lots of ammo and from different manufacturers. This 2500x has shot good so far but it seems way picker than the rimx and not nearly as consistent.

Makes me regret selling the rimx some days. This was very typical of that rifles groups with no wind flags off a crappy wooden bench on a bipod and rear bag. IMG_4742.jpeg

Sounds like you have your heart set on a Rim X!
I'm in Australia and also wanted a Rim X. I decided what components I thought would work for me and finished up with the following:
Rim X action, Foundation Centurion standard weight stock, TT Diamond, Benchmark MTU 26" fitted with EC tuner. Greg & Travis at Primal Rights/TS Customs put it together for me and tested accuracy and function before it shipped as I had no way of returning it if it didn't work!!!!
When the "truck axles" came into vogue, I contacted Padom and settled on a Kreiger 22" with the Eachus chamber machined by Mike Manzella.
If I buy another barrel, it will be a 4 GR Benchmark in their VUDOO contour which is 1.2" at the shank and will finish at 26"X.910" straight.

You guys are killing me! Two great shooting rifles in the same stock, one spins the bullet clockwise, the other spins counter clockwise!

Yes, I am set on RimX. I have the action sitting in a box on my workbench so I am committed. Yesterday I plopped my freshly shot VuDoo target in front of it and asked, "Can you beat this? What will you be, a hero or a zero?" It hasn't answered back yet, but it had quietly watched me strip the scope off my CZ MTR, box it up, carry it to the truck, and not bring it back home, so it knows I'm serious......

Im been shooting my RimX in an XLR Envy Pro chassis for a long time and accuracy had been as good as this platform can provide.

While my RimX is a hammer, my 2500x/Mullerworks/Rotex stock is just so damn accurate and consistent.

As everyone knows, ammo testing is the name of the game for ultimate accuracy
