Benchmark

I have a 26" 13tw Ratchet Rifled 4 groove Shilen Varmint contour chambered in .308 Winchester screwed on a Savage action. It has shot just okay and sub 1 MOA with just about everything. I always wanted better, don't we all, and today I tried Benchmark and N140 behind 155 gr. A-Max in Lapua cases fired by a BR-2. 5-6 mph variable winds and cold today so I hope for some better weather to prove this out and chronograph. FYI, I ran Varget, 4064, H4895 previously. Please use caution as this load is over Hodgdon's maximum however exhibited no pressure signs in my rifle.

A friend I shoot with uses Benchmark too, with 155's. He's shot cleans straightaway for 45 rounds in Palma matches with it. Not sure about how much he uses but it's always a good idea to work up to what's safe in your rifle.

N140 can be a little peaky at summer temps, N150's better.

I've had excellent results using Benchmark in lighter .308 bullets, and also .223 AR gas gun loads

I just stared some testing w/BM in my 7-08, good so far, but is a simple stock sporter rig.
H380 works super in my rig also, almost as good as varget.
