Benchmade Knives

Yes it has the digital angle thingy. If you look close at the pic it’s on the table. Changing the blade angle can take awhile, but once it’s sharp it’s pretty quick to get the edge back.
Ah, I see it there now on the table.

The original one is finicky to set also, but once it's set it's the same...not very long to touch it up. IMO, it takes quite a while to sharpen it properly the first time.

Had a buck knife that went through a forest fire that took everything I owned at the time... Called many knife and tool makers etc trying to get the stuff replaced or repaired not for free even just replaced at maybe a discounted price instead of buying new all over again.... Only buck said send it back with $20and we will repair it and leave as many parts as we can such as if you wanted Grandpa's old pocket knife repaired as a keepsake because buying a new one isn't the same...

Buck returned that knife in perfect condition all hand redone by a single craftsman... You can tell they had to shave down the brass and install new wood etc but left the liners after cleaning them up etc.... that knife was completely destroyed and got stuck in a tree for a year before sending it to them , they have a heritage unit for repairs..... It is perfect....

Now let's talk about snap on , boker etc etc etc... they all told me to go pound sand.... Only buck was willing to do anything...Even for money these other big name companies just said go buy new ones that's your tough luck.... Now a lot of them would take them back if they broke and melt them down and start over etc... because of this I buy a lot of buck 110s for gifts and own three or four myself.... I also own Benchmade , boker , esee etc... Being in business I understand customer service and support and have helped any customer in our machine shop business I could... Building an engine for a good customer and letting them have it for race night even though they can't pay 100% of the bill right now , doing that little extra work for free if need be to make something better than my competitors and doing it cheaper.... This is why our shop didn't have a sign or wasn't in the phone book for decades and stayed covered up in work with customers who understood when we all got sick or parts didn't come in etc... For what they did I will continue to buy American made buck knives for the rest of my life....

Be change knives are fantastic, I’ve had several. I would add one word of caution. If your seeing a bench made knife for cheap on eBay, amazing, wherever you may find it theres a good chance it’s a Chinese knock off. I’d do a little homework and make sure you’re buying from a trusted dealer or seller. At a glance they can be hard to tell apart but you won’t be happy with knock off. Just my opinion after watching two friends get burned with what they thought was a hell of a deal.

I have a Spyderco SS folder that is still razor sharp after 25 years. Benchmades I’ve owned had to be sent in for sharpening too often.
No offense, but who actually sends their dull knives in for sharpening?

Forum Boss: It was dull when brand new (purchased online) -- wanted to give the factory a chance to make it right. It came back still dull with a bad edge so it went back a second time.

My EDC is a custom Benchmade bugout with a reprofiled blade and micarta scales.

Mostly I just really like the Axis lock.

I use it a lot, but not “hard”.

My spring broke today. Every day carry for about 15 years and it was used when it was gifted to me. Blade is a bit shorter these days. Love the serrated blade.20240107_150632.jpg
