Now tell me said:If you've ever done it, there's no need to explain; if you never have, there's no way to explain it to you.
Thank you for your service to our country.Okay, I have to fly out in the morning for the US Army Ranger Regiment Association reunion this week at Fort Bragg, NC. There were eleven full Infantry Divisions in RVN. Each one had a LRRP (Long Range Recon Patrol) company. Nixon found out that 3/4ths of the teams were Airborne Ranger trained, and switched the name to Airborne Ranger Companies. I was in the Company (75th Inf Abn)attached to the 23rd Inf, aka the Americal in Chu Lai, and then in 2nd Platoon (aka Company2/Company G) when half the company was reassigned to Danang. The Rangers date back to 1754 as George Rogers Ranging Companies during the F&I War.
I want you all to play nice while I am gone...
Rich
Good old Ft Bragg. Wouldn't mind seeing it one last time before I croak but from what I hear I wouldn't even recognize it. All the old buildings are torn down. Our old barracks is still standing as part of the historical Fort.
Anyone else here remember it?
First jump is easy. The second one, eh . . . not so much.Thank you all for your service.

EBay listing "For sale, used parachute, only used once, did not open the first time. $10.00"![]()
My step pops hit the bleachers in a exhibition jump @Ft Clayton Panama.Never saw a static line problem except one time the stupid jumpmaster should have called it off for wind. The guys couldn't collapse their chutes and got drug badly. I did actually witness two golden knights take it into the ground. It happens.

Our old barracks is still standing as part of the historical Fort. One of my favorite spots was the sport parachute club. I'm sure its gone because it was an old shack 50 some years ago. Pack parachutes upstairs and then go downstairs and drink beer for the rest of the night. Anyone else here remember it?
