I use these tapered silicone stoppers fairly often when doing bedding...especially with factory actions. They come in sizes from 1/16" to 3/4". They're stupid cheap on Amazon.
We're hosting a baby shower at our home tomorrow and I've been busier than a one armed paper hanger getting stuff done. Last evening, the surface light on our microwave over the stove dies. No biggie, just unscrew it and plop in a new one. The glass comes out and sure as sh!+.....the metal socket stays in the outlet. No room...can't even see it to get a 90 degree needle nose in it.
I remember the tapered plugs. I shoved one in and quicker than you can say 'leftie-loosie'...the metal screwed right out.
Some days it's the little things.
Good shootin'
