Bead blasting

A bead blasted gun will not likely hide many tool marks. It also depends on how coarse the media is. Bead blasting is good to prep for Cerakote or similar finish.Joe

Beadblasting is NOT a good prep for Cerakote period.

Correct, beads make little divots and dont score/etch the surface like an abrasive aluminum oxide grit will. The ceramic needs some sharp little etching to stick to and the beads do not provide that.

I get my bare stainless bead blasted because it looks better to me than polished. Any other benefit besides aesthetics, such as heat dissipation, would be too minute to have a practical benefit imo.
