Bat owners

Got my Model M on Monday. Do you grease the raceways and all surfaces of the lugs? I normally just grease the rear of the lugs, but this one was shipped with quite a bit of grease on all surfaces of the lugs (except front facing the chamber) and in the raceways. I sent a message to Bat, but thought I would check here too.

I grease my BAT 3 lugs with TW25B on the lug locking surfaces and lightly on the bolt body. Remember that the bolt bodies are 4140 and will rust if neglected.

Both of mine showed up last week and they too were coated pretty good with a White grease, looks like the same stuff they send you in that little packet.. Sure is better than showing up rusty looking....
I keep a light coat on them all the time..

Thanks guys. I got an email from Bat and he said they coat them real well so as to not receive calls from people saying they sent them out dry. He said just wipe off the excess and keep the mating surfaces of the lugs greased.

I am thinking about getting it the melonite treatment, but I don't want the black color. Can an action be cerakoted after it has had the melonite procedure?

If I grease my Bat, it would slip out of my hands!

How long was your wait for the M action? I've been waiting for 7 months now (Feb 28) for an MB receiver. This is my 7th BAT action but by far the longest delivery.

Coverdog, last I spoke with Daryl (about a month ago) they were gearing up for a run of MBs. This order is for a receiver only since I found myself with a spare bolt, barrel, stock, and trigger. In other words, I realized that I had everything on hand for another build except a receiver.

You have great tastes. I like the Multiflat as well. Thanks for the response.

To the original poster, I use Sinclair bolt grease on the lugs and CLP on the bolt body. There are many good greases and lubes available.

I ordered it on 20 June. So it was a 3 month wait.

My MB Multi-Flat (receiver only) came in yesterday after 7 months, 1 week. I know that BAT runs them in batchs, so maybe the MBs are in less demand now. Delivery on my first two MBs ran 3 months. I previously had ordered a 223 bolt for another B action but I soon ended up with all the spare components for another 308 build except for the receiver.
